An AI family photoshoot doesn’t require getting everyone in one place: the model builds the shot from separate photos. We took four ordinary shots — the mother, the father, the grandmother and the grandfather, each in a different place — and built 8 family scenes from them in Nano Banana 2, part of the Nano Banana family. One generation per prompt, no retouching. The children in the shots were drawn by the model from a description.
How to make an AI family photoshoot from separate photos
- A photo of each adult. A clear, front-facing face in daylight, no sunglasses or cap. How to choose the source photo is covered in the AI photoshoot guide.
- Tie faces to photos. The first sentence of the prompt: “The woman from the first photo and the man from the second are the parents. Keep both faces exactly as in the photos”. Name each person’s features: freckles, glasses, a mustache. Without this, the model may swap people.
- Describe the children. Age and looks: “a 7-year-old daughter with blonde braids”. A number for the age matters — the model reads “little” any way it likes.
- Give a shared action. Reading, baking, walking toward the camera, running through the water. A family that just stands there looks like an insurance ad.
How many people the model can hold
| Model | Faces from photos in one shot | When to use it |
|---|---|---|
| Nano Banana 2 | up to 4 | parents plus grandparents; children from a description |
| Nano Banana Pro | up to 5 | a big family, a real child plus four adults |
The limits come from Google’s documentation. The model will draw people beyond the limit, but it won’t guarantee a likeness to your real relatives.
How to write a family photoshoot prompt
The formula: who comes from which photo + children from a description + arrangement + shared action + clothes in one palette + place + light and camera.
Set the clothes by palette rather than by item for each person: “white, beige and denim” gives a cohesive shot, five different outfits look busy. For a studio shot, add the arrangement and the phrase “everyone’s face is fully visible”.
Ideas 1–2: on the sofa and baking in the kitchen
Home scenes come out the most natural: people have something to do, the window light is soft, and the interior doesn’t compete with the faces.
The woman from the first photo and the man from the second are the parents. Keep both
faces exactly as in the photos: her wavy honey-blonde hair and freckles, his black-framed
glasses, stubble and short dark hair. A cozy family photo at home: the parents sit on a
big grey sofa under a knitted blanket with their 7-year-old daughter with blonde braids
and 4-year-old son with dark hair, the mother reads a picture book aloud, the children
laugh, the father points at the page. Everyone's face is fully visible, nobody covers
anyone. Soft window light, 35mm lens, f/2.8
The woman from the first photo and the man from the second are the parents. Keep both
faces exactly as in the photos. The family bakes in a bright kitchen: the parents, a
7-year-old daughter with blonde braids and a 4-year-old son with dark hair roll dough
and cut cookies at a wooden table, flour on the son's nose, everyone laughing, matching
linen aprons, morning sun from the window, 35mm lens, f/2.8, documentary style
Ideas 3–4: a forest walk and a sunset at the beach
For the walk, give everyone a role: the father carries the son on his shoulders, the mother holds the daughter’s hand. At the beach, add movement: running along the waterline gives splashes and natural emotions.
The woman from the first photo and the man from the second are the parents. Keep both
faces exactly as in the photos. A family walk in a summer pine forest: the father
carries the 4-year-old son with dark hair on his shoulders, the mother holds hands with
the 7-year-old daughter with blonde braids, they walk toward the camera along a sunny
path and smile, clothes in white, beige and denim, warm backlight through the trees,
50mm lens, f/2
The woman from the first photo and the man from the second are the parents. Keep both
faces exactly as in the photos. A family at the seaside at sunset: the parents, the
7-year-old daughter with blonde braids and the 4-year-old son with dark hair run
barefoot on wet sand along the waterline holding hands, splashes, light white linen
clothes, golden sunset backlight, 85mm lens, f/2.8
Ideas 5–6: studio and black-and-white portraits
The studio is the shot that depends most on arrangement. We spelled out each person’s position, and the model followed it exactly: the father on the left with the son on his arm, the mother on the right, the daughter in front of the mother. The black-and-white portrait on a black background relies on one side light and a hug.
The woman from the first photo and the man from the second are the parents. Keep both
faces exactly as in the photos. A studio family portrait on a seamless warm beige
backdrop. Arrangement: the father stands on the left, the mother on the right, the
7-year-old daughter with blonde braids stands in front of the mother, the 4-year-old
son with dark hair sits on the father's arm. All four faces are fully visible at
slightly different heights. Clothes in white and light denim, soft large softbox light,
70mm lens, f/5.6, sharp focus on every face
The woman from the first photo and the man from the second are the parents. Keep both
faces exactly as in the photos. A black-and-white studio family portrait on a black
background: the parents, the 7-year-old daughter and the 4-year-old son hug closely,
heads together, the son on the mother's lap, everyone in black turtlenecks, one soft side
light, deep shadows, fine film grain, 85mm lens, f/4
Ideas 7–8: three generations and mother and daughter
The three-generation shot is Nano Banana 2’s limit: four faces from four photos plus a granddaughter from a description. All four adults are recognizable, including the grandmother’s glasses and the grandfather’s mustache. For five faces from photos, use Nano Banana Pro.
Three generations of one family. Photo 1 is the mother, photo 2 the father, photo 3 the
grandmother, photo 4 the grandfather. Keep all four faces exactly as in the photos: the
mother's wavy honey-blonde hair and freckles, the father's glasses and stubble, the
grandmother's short silver haircut and round glasses, the grandfather's white mustache.
A summer dinner in a country-house garden: the four adults and a 7-year-old
granddaughter with blonde braids sit at a long wooden table with a white tablecloth,
fruit and a pie, the grandfather raises a glass, everyone laughs. Arrangement: the
grandparents at the far end facing the camera, the parents on the sides, the girl next
to the grandmother. Everyone's face is visible. Warm evening light, string lights above
the table, 35mm lens, f/4
Keep the woman's face, freckles and wavy honey-blonde hair exactly as in the photo. A
mother-and-daughter photoshoot: she and her 7-year-old daughter with blonde braids walk
through a blooming lavender field at golden hour, matching white linen dresses and
straw hats, the girl looks up at her mother and laughs, the mother holds her hand, warm
backlight, 85mm lens, f/2
Children in the shot: from a photo or a description
In all our shots, the children’s faces were drawn from a description: the model makes them look like the parents, but they aren’t real children. If you want your own child, there are two constraints. First, the per-shot limit on faces from photos — a child takes the place of one adult. Second, consent and safety: upload a child’s photo only as their parent and only to a service you trust with your photos.
Seasonal family shots are collected separately: the autumn photoshoot prompt and the Christmas photoshoot prompt.
Where to run these prompts
Every prompt in this article works in AI2Face. It brings together Nano Banana 2, Nano Banana Pro, GPT Image, Seedream and other top models — for less than subscribing to each one separately. You can pay by card, crypto or another convenient method. Besides the subscription there are credit packs: they don’t expire at the end of the month, so you pay only for what you generate. New accounts get starter credits, so your first shots cost nothing.
Bottom line
An AI family photoshoot is built from separate photos — nobody has to sit side by side. Three things decide the result: tie each face to its photo and name the features, describe the arrangement, and give the family a shared action. The most reliable scenes are home, kitchen and a studio with a written-out arrangement. Nano Banana 2 holds up to four faces from photos — enough for parents and grandparents. For five real people, or a real child plus four adults, use Nano Banana Pro. Prompts for one person are in the AI photoshoot prompt collection.
FAQ
How do you make an AI family photoshoot from separate photos?
Upload one clear photo of each adult and tie the faces to the photos in the prompt: “the woman from the first photo, the man from the second”. Then describe the arrangement, a shared action, clothes, place and light. Nobody needs to be photographed together.
How many people can be in one AI shot from photos?
According to Google's documentation, Nano Banana 2 keeps the likeness of up to 4 people and Nano Banana Pro up to 5. Anyone else in the frame is drawn from the description.
Can you make an AI family photoshoot for free?
Partly. AI2Face gives you starter credits after sign-up — enough for your first family shots. A series of ten or more images is paid in any service.
Do I need to upload a photo of my child?
Not necessarily. Without a photo, the model draws the child from the description and makes them look like the parents. If you want your real child, upload their photo only as a parent and keep the per-shot people limit in mind.
How do you stop faces from overlapping?
Describe the arrangement in words: who's on the left, who's on the right, who's in front, and add “everyone's face is fully visible”. For 4–5 people, choose a vertical 4:5 frame and a studio backdrop.
