AI birthday photoshoot: 8 prompts with cake, balloons and text

A birthday shot doesn’t need a studio full of balloons: the model draws the decor, the light and the cake around your face. We made all the scenes below from one selfie taken on a bus, in Nano Banana 2 from the Nano Banana family; the men’s shot used a second photo. One generation per prompt — two scenes took a second try, explained below.

How to write a birthday photoshoot prompt

A birthday prompt is the usual photoshoot prompt formula with three accents:

1. A festive object. A cake with candles, balloons, confetti, a sparkler. One main object per shot — otherwise the scene turns into a party-shop window.
2. Emotion through action. Not “smiles”, but “blows out the candles”, “throws confetti at the camera”, “laughs with her head thrown back”. An action gives you a lively face.
3. Numbers and text in quotes. “Number balloons “30””, “a banner “С ДНЁМ РОЖДЕНИЯ””. Without quotes, the model may write something of its own.

Ideas 1–2: number balloons and a cake with candles

A studio with balloons is the main shot for a post or a profile picture. The cake with candles relies on firelight: in a dark room, the candles light the face by themselves.

Confetti thrown at the camera with flash is the most dynamic birthday shot. A rooftop dinner at sunset is calm and upscale: a glass, a cake with a sparkler, a blurred city.

In the first version of the retro shot, we asked for “no text”, but the model hung a “HAPPY BIRTHDAY” garland on its own and added an empty date stamp: to the model, “90s style” includes both. What helped was describing the garland explicitly — “plain flags without letters” — and listing what shouldn’t be there: text, numbers, a date stamp.

Ideas 7–8: a men’s birthday and a morning with a banner

The men’s shot skips the pastels: a bar counter, amber light, a cake with one candle placed by the bartender. The morning in bed is a quiet scene for stories, and this is where we tested a Russian banner.

The model wrote the banner “С ДНЁМ РОЖДЕНИЯ” without errors on the first try, including the letter “Ё”. But in the first version the one-line banner didn’t fit in the frame and was cut off at the edge. Splitting it into two lines and adding “the whole banner fully in frame” fixed that.

The model writes short text reliably. The longer the phrase, the higher the chance it gets cut off or “drifts”: keep the greeting to two or three words, and add longer text in an editor.
