An AI banner generator replaces the first round of a designer’s work: from one description, it draws the product, background, headline, discount and button in a finished layout. A year ago you had to add the text in an editor because models garbled letters. Models in 2026 write the offer and the button themselves, so the banner can go straight to moderation or an A/B test. We tested this on four typical small-business tasks, with Russian and English versions of every banner. All banners below were made in the AI2Face generator.
AI banner generator: the prompt formula
An ad banner works on the first try when the prompt has six parts:
| Part | Example |
|---|---|
| What we advertise and where | a sneaker sale, a website banner |
| Key visual and its position | a pair of sneakers on the right, floating in the air |
| Space for text | a clean area on the left for the headline and button |
| Text — word for word, by role | headline, large discount number, button label |
| Palette and style | warm beige gradient, orange accents, e-commerce |
| Restrictions | no other text, no logos or brand names |
The most useful line is “space for text”: it separates the product and the copy into different halves of the frame, so the banner reads in a second, as an ad should. Always add “no logos or brand names”: the model might draw a recognizable third-party logo on a sneaker, and such a banner won’t pass moderation.
1. Website banner: a sale
Web advertising banner for an online sneaker store autumn sale. Right side: a
pair of white and orange running sneakers floating dynamically with a soft
shadow, a few falling autumn leaves. Left side: clean area with bold modern text
without quotation marks, each line written exactly once: large headline —
Autumn Sale; below a big accent number — −30%; below that a rounded orange
button with the text — Shop now. Warm beige background with a soft gradient,
professional e-commerce design, no logos or brand names.
A 16:9 banner works for a website hero, an email and wide ad placements. The button is part of the image — if the banner is on a website, make the whole image clickable.
2. Social media banner: a coffee shop promo
Square social media ad banner for a coffee shop promotion: photorealistic
close-up of two cups of cappuccino with latte art on a light wooden table, warm
morning light, a few coffee beans. Top area: bold friendly text without
quotation marks, each line written exactly once, no punctuation at the end of
lines: headline — Second coffee free; smaller line — until October 31. Cream and
coffee brown palette, no logos.
For social feeds, use 1:1 or 4:5; for a Telegram channel, 16:9 or 1:1. Photorealistic food and drinks are a strength of Nano Banana Pro: the foam, steam and wood grain look like they came from a good photo shoot.
3. Banner with a person: an online course
Advertising banner for an online language course: on the right, a photorealistic
smiling young woman with headphones and a laptop at a bright home desk, natural
light. On the left, a clean deep blue area with modern text without quotation
marks, each line written exactly once: headline — Conversational Spanish in 3
months; smaller — online lessons with native speakers; a yellow rounded button
with the text — Sign up. Professional ad design, generous spacing.
A generated person on a banner is convenient: no stock photo license and no model release to sign. If you need the same “face of the brand” across a series of banners, create a character and pass it into every generation — as in our guide to creating a character with AI.
4. Stories banner
Vertical 9:16 stories ad for a flower delivery service: a lush bouquet of peonies
and eucalyptus wrapped in kraft paper, held by a hand, soft pastel pink
background, studio light. Top: elegant text without quotation marks, each line
written exactly once: headline — Flowers delivered in 2 hours; smaller —
anywhere in the city. Bottom: a white rounded button with the text — Order now.
Keep the top 250 and bottom 250 pixels free of important details except text.
In stories, the top and bottom of the frame are covered by the avatar, the account name and the reply field. The line “keep the top and bottom 250 pixels for text only” keeps the bouquet in the safe zone.
A text-free banner: a background for your own layout
If the text has to be in your brand font, or you need the banner in ten sizes, generate an image without text and set the copy in an editor.
Background image for a web advertising banner, no text at all: a pair of white
and orange running sneakers on the right third, dynamic angle with a soft shadow,
a few falling autumn leaves, warm beige gradient background. The left two thirds
are a calm, clean empty area reserved for a headline and a button. No text, no
letters, no logos.
A background like this is easy to adapt to different placements: crop the empty area and the product stays in frame. The same trick works for covers — see our guide to AI thumbnails.
Which AI makes better banners: Nano Banana Pro or GPT Image 2.5
We made the sale banner with one prompt in two models: Nano Banana Pro and GPT Image 2.5.
| Nano Banana Pro | GPT Image 2.5 | |
|---|---|---|
| Text errors | none | none |
| Layout | plenty of space, the discount is the main accent | denser, headline and discount carry similar weight |
| Product | realistic sneaker, soft shadows | more “advertising” look, saturated colors |
| 16:9 file size at 2K | 2752 × 1536 | 2736 × 1536 |
| Best for | clean e-commerce banners, many variations | loud promos that need a bold creative |
Both models handle banner text well. Nano Banana Pro gives a calmer, more premium layout; GPT Image 2.5, a brighter one. For an A/B test, it makes sense to make one variant in each model: two different visual approaches from a single prompt.
Banner sizes for ad networks, social media and websites
Every ad network sets its own image requirements. As an example, here’s what Yandex Direct requires for images in performance campaign ads (per the Direct help center):
| Format | Size | File |
|---|---|---|
| Aspect ratios from 1:1 to 4:3 and 3:4 | 450 to 5000 pixels per side | JPG, PNG or GIF up to 10 MB |
| Widescreen 16:9 | 1080 × 607 to 5000 × 2812 pixels | JPG, PNG or GIF up to 10 MB |
| Fixed-size display creatives | 240 × 400, 300 × 250, 728 × 90 and other slots, can be 2–3× larger | up to 512 KB |
The network recommends uploading two versions — standard and widescreen 16:9. A 2K AI banner covers both: 16:9 comes out at about 2750 × 1540 pixels, 1:1 at 2048 × 2048. For fixed-size display creatives (728 × 90 is roughly 8:1), generate a text-free background in a similar ratio and assemble the banner in an editor. The generator does offer ultra-wide 4:1 and 8:1 formats, but not in every model, and text in such a narrow strip comes out small.
| Placement | Aspect ratio in the generator |
|---|---|
| Website hero, email | 16:9 or 21:9 |
| Social feed | 1:1 or 4:5 |
| Stories, vertical video | 9:16 |
| Telegram channel | 16:9 or 1:1 |
Where to make an ad banner with AI
Nano Banana Pro and GPT Image 2.5 are both in one AI2Face generator: make the banner in both models and send both variants to your test. The cost of each generation is shown before you start, and credits from packs don’t expire. For marketplaces, we have separate guides: AI product cards and marketplace infographics; for event posters, see the AI poster generator guide.
Bottom line
In 2026, an AI banner generator makes a finished ad creative with text and a button in one generation: in our test, all four banners came out without a typo on the first try, in Russian and English alike. Use Nano Banana Pro for clean e-commerce banners, GPT Image 2.5 for bold promos, and both for an A/B test. Write the text word for word and by role, leave “space for text” in the prompt and add “no logos or brand names”. For a brand font and narrow formats like 728 × 90, generate a text-free background and lay out the copy on top. If you need a full set rather than one banner — a packshot, UGC photos, stories and test variants — see how an AI ad generator builds it from one product photo.
FAQ
How do I make a banner with AI?
In the prompt, describe the product or scene, where the text goes, the exact headline, offer and button label, the palette and the format. Pick an aspect ratio for the placement: 16:9 for websites, 1:1 or 4:5 for feeds, 9:16 for stories. The banner is ready in 20–60 seconds.
Does AI write banner text without mistakes?
Yes. In our test, Nano Banana Pro and GPT Image 2.5 rendered every headline, discount and button correctly, in Cyrillic and in English. In one English version the model added stray periods — “no punctuation at the end of lines” fixed it.
What banner size do ad networks need?
Each network has its own spec. Yandex Direct, for example, accepts 450 to 5000 pixels per side for 1:1 to 4:3 images and at least 1080 × 607 for 16:9, up to 10 MB. A 2K AI banner in 16:9 is about 2750 × 1540 pixels — enough for most placements.
Can I make a banner with AI for free?
Yes, a few. AI2Face gives you starter credits when you sign up, and one banner in Nano Banana Pro is inexpensive — the cost is shown before you generate.
Can I make a banner with my own product?
Yes. Upload a product photo as a reference and describe the scene and text — the model will use your actual product. For a series of listings, we have a separate guide on product cards.
