What is Kling 3.0
Kling 3.0 is the third generation of video models from Kuaishou, the Chinese company behind the short-video platform of the same name. Kling announced it on the last day of January 2026, and Kuaishou’s official press release followed on February 5. For the whole family, including Kling 4.0 released in October, see the Kling overview.
The 3.0 generation includes four models:
- Video 3.0 — the main video model, successor to Kling 2.6;
- Video 3.0 Omni — the model for references and editing, successor to Kling O1;
- Image 3.0 and Image 3.0 Omni — images in 2K and 4K, plus image series.
The lineup grew later: Motion Control 3.0 for motion transfer on March 4, a 4K video mode on April 23, and the fast Kling 3.0 Turbo plus improved Omni editing on June 17.
According to Kuaishou, by February 2026 Kling had more than 60 million creators, over 600 million generated videos and more than 30,000 enterprise clients.
What Kling 3.0 can do
Up to 15 seconds with sound. Kling O1 let you pick a length between 3 and 10 seconds; 3.0 goes freely up to 15. Sound is generated together with the picture: speech, music and effects.
Shot-by-shot storyboards. One clip can hold several shots, and each gets its own length, shot size, angle, action and camera move. The model handles classic shot-reverse-shot dialogue as well as cross-cutting with voice-over.
Speech in several languages. English, Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Spanish, plus English accents and Chinese dialects. Characters in one scene can speak different languages, and the prompt controls the order and delivery of the lines.
On-screen text holds up. Signs, captions and prints on clothing stay sharp throughout the clip. Kuaishou pitches this for advertising: the logo on a character’s shirt doesn’t smear.
Character elements with voices (Omni). An element is a saved character, object or location that the model keeps consistent in any scene. In 3.0 Omni you can build an element from 4 angles or extract it from a 3–8 second video, look and voice included. You can also bind a voice separately with a 5–30 second speech recording.
Editing finished clips (Omni). Swap the background, a character or an object, recolor something, change the style from an image. Since June 2026, Omni edits clips of 3–15 seconds and handles 4K in and out.
4K mode. Since April 23, 2026, Video 3.0 and Video 3.0 Omni generate in 4K with one switch. Kling highlights skin texture, smooth color gradients and crisp small text.

Omni pricing in the Kling app: 1080p with sound is 12 credits per second, 720p is 9; without sound, 8 and 6. With a video input, sound isn’t generated yet, and a second costs 16 and 12 credits. 4K is 30 credits per second.
What Kling 3.0 is good for
- Short stories with dialogue of 10–15 seconds: shot by shot, with lines and editing.
- Recurring characters. An element with a voice lets the same character look and sound identical across clips.
- Ads with logos and text — text on products and clothing holds up for the whole clip.
- Editing real footage: swap a background or an object while keeping the motion.
- A 4K final for big screens.
- Dance and motion from a reference — with Kling Motion Control.

Kling 3.0 is the most convenient choice for step-by-step storyboards and recurring characters with voices. Seedance 2.5 gives you twice the clip length and more references. Veo 3.1 is more precise with the physics of short scenes.
How to write prompts for Kling 3.0
- Split the clip into timed shots: “Shot 1 (2s): wide shot…”. The shots should add up to 15 seconds or less.
- Give each shot a shot size and a camera move: wide, medium, close-up, top-down, orbit.
- Call characters by their element name: “@Anna sits across from @Max.” The model matches them to the saved elements.
- Put dialogue in quotes after the character’s name. If the element has a voice bound to it, you don’t need to describe the voice.
- Spell out the sound: train noise, music, silence at the end.
A prompt for the storyboard above:
Shot 1 (2s): wide shot, @Max and @Anna sit facing each other in an old green train carriage, the train is moving.
Shot 2 (3s): close-up of @Anna's profile, she looks out the window and asks: "Where are we going?"
Shot 3 (3s): close-up of @Max, he smiles: "Somewhere it's summer all year round."
Shot 4 (3s): medium shot, @Anna turns to him and nods: "I love summer."
Shot 5 (3s): wide shot, both laugh, fields flash past the window. Sound: clacking wheels, warm jazz score.
How to use Kling 3.0 in AI2Face
Kling 3.0 is in the AI2Face generator next to Seedance 2.5, Veo 3.1 and Vidu.
- Sign up — new accounts get starter credits.
- Open the generator, switch to video and pick Kling 3.0.
- Upload a frame or references, write the prompt shot by shot, set the length and resolution.
- The credit cost is shown before you start. Credits don’t expire.
You can create a character’s angles for an element in the same generator — for example, with Nano Banana Pro, like the sheet on this page.
Limitations
- 15 seconds max. Anything longer means stitching clips, or using Seedance 2.5 or Kling 4.0.
- Video input turns off sound. In Omni, a video reference currently means no generated audio.
- Fewer references with video. With a video uploaded, there’s room for only 4 images or elements instead of 7.
- File requirements. Images must be at least 300 px per side and up to 10 MB; videos 3–10 seconds, up to 200 MB and no larger than 2K.
- Languages. Speech is officially supported in five languages.
Bottom line
Kling 3.0 is the best pick when a clip follows a storyboard with recurring characters: elements with voices and per-shot settings exist only here. The 4K mode and Turbo cover both ends — a big-screen final and quick drafts. If 15 seconds isn’t enough, or you have dozens of characters and references, move to Seedance 2.5. For short realistic scenes, compare the result with Veo 3.1 in the same AI2Face generator.

A faster version released on June 17, 2026. Kling promises the same quality, storyboard adherence and lip sync with quicker, cheaper generation.
